Cafe Style Shutters
Café style shutters cover the lower part of a window. They are so named and were made popular in the cafes of Europe where they were fitted to allow privacy for the diners seated at tables, but allowed plenty of light to flood in over the top to keep the room light and bright.
Café style shutters can be used in homes to offer the same benefits – a combination of light and privacy that is difficult to get from other window treatments.
They are made to the same exacting standards as all of our other shutter styles, and can be supplied in all material types. They can have a paint finish or a stained finish and are all made to measure to perfectly fit your window.
During the process of manufacturing, the uprights of the shutter (called the stiles) have specially machined wooden core laminated into them. By mixing the direction of the grain, the stile becomes stronger than the original length of timber, making the shutter more resistant to warping,
Some of our competitors use dowels to join the key joints on their shutters together, but our experience has shown us that these are often not strong enough.
Instead of this Reynolds shutters are manufactured using mortise and tenon joints giving you a stronger shutter and years of trouble free use.
We are always happy to talk about your design ideas and discuss your new looks.
