Reynolds Blinds attended this year’s British Blinds and Shutters Association (BBSA) Golf Day last week.

This and similar events are organised throughout the year by the BBSA, an organisation dedicated to providing higher standards and better consumer protection through our industry.

An active member of the BBSA for many years, Reynolds always supports the BBSA and adheres closely to its code of conduct. Earlier this year Reynolds exhibited at the BBSA show in Coventry, and regularly attends regional and national meetings where we offer our opinions and advice on how standards in the industry should be raised.

The weather was good for a change and a great day was had by all.  The evening meal included a raffle in aid of the BBSA Presidents chosen charity, which raised over £300.00

Congratulations must go to Mr Bruce Johnson from Louvolite who won the overall event, taking the title from last year’s winner and renowned poor loser Mr Phil Timmins from Tropical Blinds.

Phil did have something to cheer about when he gave heartfelt congratulations his 4’somes partner, novice 28 handicap player and Director of Reynolds Blinds Mr Iain Pickup won the longest drive competition.

This was added to by Mr John Pickup of Reynolds Blinds winning the Closest the Pin competition. John wishes to thank Mark Claxton (Claxton Blinds), Martin Rainer (Broadview Blinds) and Matt Cotterall (Louvolite) for their guidance during the round.

Thanks must also go to Mr Martin Fells of Tropical Blinds for his organisation of the event and his saintly patience with a particular member of his own staff, who claimed the event was fixed by ‘bandits’ and ‘24 handicap cut’. He was seen walking off into the car park shaking his fist in the air shouting 'I will get them next time!!!'
